I don't understand license plate blocking. What nefarious acts are you protecting yourself from by blocking it? People can see your license plate on the road all the time.

With so many apps (CL, eBay) for smartphones these days, some of these photos never see a proper computer.
Plus, some people are just lazy and/or not creative.

I don't see any point in blurring a license plate on something common, say a fairly new, stock Toyota Accord. But if the car is somewhat rare, or has a bunch of money in modifications, etc., I can't imagine a good reason to post information on the internet that could allow a potential thief to track down the location of said vehicle.
